02 — Challenge & Brand DNACommitted to Yellow.

A balm that behaves
like an object of design.

The challenge. Lip balm is the least glamorous product in any beauty line — functional, invisible, bought on autopilot. Prada Beauty's Balm in Banana Yellow refuses that role: a Saffiano-textured bullet in a mirror-steel case, closer to industrial jewellery than to skincare. The brief we set ourselves: build a campaign world where a balm is treated with the visual seriousness of a handbag launch — and prove it can be produced entirely with AI, at campaign grade.

A

Luxury as restraint

Chrome, steel and one saturated colour. Nothing decorative survives that isn't structural.

B

Experimental by default

Prada normalises the strange — a yellow balm is not a novelty, it's a position.

C

Architectural composition

Objects are placed, not styled. Geometry, plinths, hard light, engineered shadows.

D

Modern femininity

Bare skin, direct gaze, no performance. Beauty as intelligence, not seduction.

E

Material fetish

Saffiano cross-hatch as brand signature — carried from leather goods into the bullet itself.

03 — Insight & Creative OpportunityWhy yellow, why now

The boldest colour in beauty
is the one that disappears.

The insight. Banana Yellow is a paradox: the loudest bullet on the shelf applies as an invisible veil of care. That tension — maximum colour in the hand, zero colour on the lips — is pure Prada logic: provocation on the surface, rigour underneath. So the campaign never softens the yellow. It commits to it.

01

Treat the bullet as the hero, not the lips. The product is sculpture; the smear is its brushstroke.

02

Let yellow own every frame — one accent colour across product, texture, OOH and motion, never diluted.

03

Scale it like fashion, not beauty. Billboards, façades, editorial pages — media where handbags live, not lip care.

04 — Mood & Visual LanguageThe system

Steel light, soft weather,
one impossible colour.

Four rules govern every image in the campaign. Together they form a system tight enough that any new asset — still, motion or OOH — instantly reads as part of the same world.

Hard sunlight on tissue
Light

Hard, directional daylight. Real speculars on chrome, crisp cast shadows — never studio-flat, never diffused into safety.

Steel blue satin
Materials

Mirror steel, Saffiano grain, satin, water. Every surface either reflects the product or contrasts its texture.

Balm texture smear on blue
Colour

Banana yellow against a cool spine of steel blues, mint and paper white. Yellow is the only warm note allowed.

Architectural composition
Composition

Centred, architectural, monumental. The balm is staged like a building — plinths, skylines, vanishing points.

05 — ExplorationSearch for the direction

Nine worlds tested.
One survived.

Direction search across still-life languages: architectural staging, weather and water, satin luxury, texture-forward smears, editorial print context and object-jewellery flat lays. Each route was generated as a full-fidelity frame — not a sketch — so the choice was made on finished evidence.

06 — Selected DirectionThe smear as signature

The product +
its own gesture.

The chosen key visual pairs the untouched bullet with a monumental smear of its formula — product and proof in a single frame. Geometry from Prada's triangle, texture from the balm itself, colour uncompromised.

Why it wins

It answers the only question a balm campaign must answer — what does it feel like? — without showing a single lip.

Brand fit

The smear is cut into a sharp triangular field: the Prada emblem rebuilt from formula. Iconography without a logo lockup.

System value

One composition scales from bus shelter to building façade to 4:5 social crop with no redesign — only re-framing.

Craft proof

Texture realism (rheology of the balm, Saffiano grain, chrome speculars) is where AI usually fails. Here it's the centrepiece.

10 — Motion:15 spot

Fifteen seconds
of commitment.

A single escalating gesture: from macro texture to monument to face to city. No dialogue, no VO — one metallic percussion motif and the sound of the cap's magnetic close as the button.

Direction: locked-off architectural frames with one slow move per shot — push-in, tilt-up or parallax only. No handheld, no speed ramps, no slow-motion drift. Cut on the beat every 2–3 seconds.

00:00–00:02
Grain

Extreme macro: Saffiano cross-hatch fills the frame; light sweeps across, PRADA emboss rises from the texture.

00:02–00:05
Monument

Tilt-up in the midnight block city: the balm stands as a tower among plinths; a hard sun edge flares off the chrome band.

00:05–00:08
Gesture

Top-down: the bullet drags one perfect stroke of formula across a mirror — the triangle field forms in a single move.

00:08–00:11
Skin

Beauty frame: profile in soft daylight, the balm passes the lips — the yellow disappears, the gloss stays.

00:11–00:13
City

The key visual snaps onto the Paris façade; street scale, pedestrians for proportion.

One studio.
Zero photoshoots.

Every frame in this case — product, texture, beauty, OOH — was generated, art-directed and finished in-house at MEI AI Lab. What a traditional production would brief across a photographer, set builder, retoucher and CGI house was executed by a two-person creative team.

Key learning

AI production doesn't lower the bar for luxury — it raises the bar for direction. The system, not the tool, is the craft.
